Statement of Intent

The main goal of our pupil premium strategy plan at Lea Manor High School is to empower disadvantaged students, ensuring that they not only overcome challenges but also succeed academically and personally. Our goal focuses on equity, inclusion and enabling every student to reach their full potential, regardless of their socioeconomic status.

Our current pupil premium strategy plan is carefully designed to meet the specific needs of disadvantaged students. It works on several basic principles:

Quality Teaching and Learning
Our strategy emphasises continuous professional development for our teaching staff. By ensuring high-quality instruction aligned with evidence-based practices, we strive to bridge the attainment gap and equip disadvantaged students with the skills needed for success. All staff will contribute to raising the expectations and outcomes of disadvantaged students

Personalised Support
We make it a priority to understand the specific needs of each disadvantaged student. By using individual student data and seating plans, we aim to provide personalised support that directly addresses their challenges.

Cultural Capital
Developing the cultural capital of all disadvantaged students. Students will be supported to take part in a range of opportunities outside of the classroom, such as trips, workshops and extra-curricular clubs.

Holistic Approach
We recognise that academic success is intertwined with social and emotional well-being. The strategy plan incorporates a range of support services, including counselling, mentoring, and extracurricular activities, to nurture the holistic development of disadvantaged students.

Partnerships and Parental Engagement
Collaboration is key. We actively engage with parents, the local community, and external resources to create a supportive network around our disadvantaged students. Strong partnerships facilitate parental involvement in their child's education and the use of community resources to enhance the learning experience.

Continuous Monitoring and Adaptation
Regular monitoring and evaluation are integral to our strategy plan. We analyse data and feedback to refine and adapt interventions, ensuring that our efforts remain effective and responsive to the evolving needs of our disadvantaged students. Heads of Department and Heads of Year will monitor the progress and attainment of disadvantaged students to check it is in line with their peers. Appropriate support strategies will be introduced where appropriate, both in and out of the classroom.

In principle, our pupil premium strategy plan at Lea Manor High School is a commitment to breaking down barriers, creating an inclusive learning environment, and empowering disadvantaged students to succeed. Through personalised support, quality teaching, holistic approaches, collaborative partnerships, and continuous adaptation, we aim to foster a future where every student can thrive academically and contribute positively to society.
