Bedfordshire Volunteer Police Cadets
The Bedfordshire Police Cadet Scheme is open to young people aged 15 to 18. You will need to be no younger than 15 years and no older than 17 years and one month on 1 September of that year's intake.
The programme starts in September until the following July, with training being held at Kempston HQ and Dunstable Police Station on a alternative Tuesday evenings from 7pm to 9pm.
Our cadet scheme aims to promote an understanding of the police service amongst young people, to support local policing and communities through volunteering and to assist in community and crime prevention events.
The cadets follow a national framework and have the opportunity to hear from guest speakers from departments within Bedfordshire Police and partner agencies.
Being a cadet is also a great way to inspire young people to participate positively in their communities and learn life skills for the future. Cadets help with crime prevention initiatives, community engagement activities, test purchasing operations, official ceremonies and much more.
